In 2016/17 live-streamed content was a major new focus for Twitter. Coming off the heels of the Hashtag OOH campaign, I was tasked with creating a brand identity for this new product. Despite the added challenge of maintaining brand guidelines, I was able to create a logo-as-concept that expressed this major shift for the platform. Using the brackets to represent Twitter’s text based history, I portrayed Twitter “breaking out of the box” of 140 (or 280) characters to bring new and exciting content to users. The logo also had room to expand as content grew enough to break into individual verticals.
